Bosnia and Herzegovina prepares for UEFA Nations League opener against Poland

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team is preparing for the start of the UEFA Nations League, beginning with an away match against Poland in Warsaw. Head coach Sergej Barbarez expressed optimism, stating the team aims for one of the top two positions in the group and will not use tactical calculations to avoid playing for draws.

The squad faces several challenges, including the absence of goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj due to injury and the fact that veteran Edin Džeko will only play in the subsequent match against Sweden. Additionally, players Amar Dedić and Kenan Busuladžić have been ruled out due to injuries. Despite these setbacks, Barbarez noted that the players are prepared and motivated for the demanding schedule, which includes four matches in 11 days.

In related news, striker Haris Tabaković is in strong form, having been nominated for Salzburg's player of the month following a high goal-scoring output in European and domestic competitions.
