MIHAS 2026 Halal trade show opens in Kuala Lumpur
The 22nd Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2026) has opened at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur. Organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and hosted by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), the four-day event aims to facilitate RM5 billion in total sales value.
The exhibition features approximately 1,700 companies across 2,000 booths, expecting to welcome 50,000 visitors from 45 different countries. The showcase covers 14 sectors, including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, personal care, modest fashion, halal logistics, Islamic finance, and technology.
A central feature of this year's event is the integration of artificial intelligence. The MIHAS AI system provides participants with dedicated AI agents to assist with business matching, multilingual support, and exhibition navigation. This technology is designed to help buyers and sellers connect more efficiently within the expanding global halal ecosystem by matching specific product requirements with suitable exhibitors.
