Mihălășeni Mayor remains under judicial control amid bribery probe

The Botoșani Tribunal has upheld the judicial control of Claudiu Daniel Chelariu, the mayor of Mihălășeni. The decision follows a challenge by Chelariu against an order issued by the Suceava branch of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA).

Chelariu is under investigation for continuous bribery involving four separate acts related to a road modernization contract. The court rejected the request to revoke the preventive measure, maintaining his status under judicial supervision.
