Miho Takagi attends fan event in Nagano following retirement

Retired Olympic speed skater Miho Takagi participated in a fan交流会 (fan exchange event) at M-Wave in Nagano on October 25. Takagi, who earned a total of ten Olympic medals during her career, appeared alongside fellow medalist Ayano Sato and coach Johan de Wit to express gratitude to supporters.

During a talk show, Takagi reflected on her retirement, noting that while she did not expect to express her thanks on the ice again, the experience made her realize the reality of her departure from competitive skating. She described her career as a “good skating life.”

The event included a lighthearted segment featuring Takagi’s sister, Nana, who served as the moderator. The sisters engaged in playful banter regarding household matters, which was well-received by the audience. The session concluded with Takagi and Sato performing a demonstration skate on the ice to bid farewell to fans.
