Mii-chan and Miss Yamada manga to receive anime adaptation in 2027
Japanese publisher Kodansha announced that the drama manga series *Mii-chan and Miss Yamada* (original Japanese title *Mii-chan to Yamada‑san*), created by Nene Azuki, will be adapted into an anime slated for release in 2027. A short teaser video and a commemorative illustration by the author were released, though details such as the format (TV series, film, etc.) and production staff remain undecided.
The story follows Yamada, a hostess in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho district, and the clumsy newcomer Mii‑chan, exploring their friendship against the backdrop of Tokyo’s nightlife. The manga has been serialized since September 2024 in Kodansha’s *Suiyoubi no Sirius* magazine and will conclude with its seventh volume in September 2026.
