Mijas hosts community running race and Latin music festival

The municipality of Mijas is hosting several community events this August. The 46th edition of the Carrera de la Feria will take place on August 30 in Mijas Pueblo, with a capacity for up to 500 runners. Organized by the Amigos del Atletismo association and the Mijas City Council, the race will feature various distances for different age categories, from pre-benjamín to master, starting and ending at the Plaza Virgen de la Peña.

Additionally, the Mijas Tourism Department has organized a ‘Noche Latina’ event on August 26 at the Plaza del Torreón in La Cala. The evening will feature Cuban, Latin American, and Caribbean music, with performances by Savia Viva, led by Cuban singer Iliana Labrada, as well as Nayza and Kafekonlé. The initiative aims to enhance the summer tourism offer and promote local activity during the night.
