Mika Baur to join Celtic Glasgow as Schalke miss out on transfer

22‑year‑old midfielder Mika Baur of SC Paderborn has reached an agreement with Scottish champions Celtic Glasgow. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal, and negotiations between Celtic and Paderborn are underway to finalise the move. Baur’s adviser Christian Nerlinger, who has strong contacts with the Scottish club, is helping to push the transfer forward.

FC Schalke 04, which had been monitoring Baur, are now out of the race. The transfer, reported to be worth about €3 million, would give the player a chance to play in the Champions League, while Paderborn secures a profitable sale and Schalke lose a potential signing.
