Mika Brunold wins ATP Challenger title in historic match

At the ATP Challenger tournament in Tulln, Lower Austria, Swiss player Mika Brunold secured his first title at this level by defeating Brazil's João Lucas Reis da Silva in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-3.

The match marked a historic moment for professional tennis as the first known final on the ATP circuit to feature two openly gay players. Brunold had shared his sexuality on social media in late 2025, noting the lack of discussion regarding homosexuality in the sport. Reis da Silva had also come out in December 2024.
