Mika Godts joins Paris Saint-Germain from Ajax for €55m

Belgian winger Mika Godts has officially joined Paris Saint-Germain from Ajax Amsterdam in a transfer valued at approximately €45 million, plus €10 million in potential bonuses. The 21-year-old signed a contract through June 2031.

Godts' agent, Niels De Jonck, revealed that the player was heavily courted by Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona, but was ultimately won over by a FaceTime conversation with PSG manager Luis Enrique. Enrique reportedly promised Godts a flexible role that utilizes his versatility and ability to exploit spaces rather than a fixed position.

To mark his departure, Ajax organized a symbolic tribute in Paris, deploying a large banner near the Eiffel Tower that read, “The future belongs to young Godts.” Godts expressed his pride in joining the club, stating, “I will give everything to live up to these colors.”

The transfer comes during a busy summer for Belgian players, with other notable movements including Youri Tielemans' move to Manchester United and discussions regarding Ibrahim Mbaye's potential departure to Liverpool.
