Mikal Bridges expresses uncertainty regarding Knicks fan appreciation

New York Knicks forward Mikal Bridges has expressed uncertainty about whether he has earned the full appreciation of the team’s fan base, despite helping the franchise win the 2026 NBA championship.

In a recent interview with the New York Post, Bridges addressed the scrutiny he faced following his high-profile acquisition from Brooklyn, which cost the Knicks five first-round picks. While the championship victory silenced many critics, Bridges noted that he is unsure if the debate regarding his value is permanently settled.

Bridges stated that he values personal, human interactions with supporters, such as when fans approach him while he is walking his dog, rather than seeking broad validation. He emphasized that the pressure and scrutiny from the New York audience serve as motivation, helping him hold himself accountable and drive continuous improvement.
