Panathinaikos enters new era with Zeljko Obradovic's return

Panathinaikos is entering a new era with the return of legendary coach Zeljko Obradovic after 14 years. The club has assembled a high-budget roster featuring players such as Gerson Yabusele, Sylvain Francisco, Mustafa Fall, Branko Banio, Isaac Bonga, and Mathias Lessort to compete for EuroLeague and domestic titles.

Obradovic has addressed his return, noting that he joined because the club was determined to sign him. He emphasized his coaching philosophy of dialogue and attention to detail, stating, “I believe I have the answers to all the questions.” He also touched upon the team's current injury challenges and the ambitious vision of owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos.

Former player Mike Batiste has returned to the club to serve as an assistant coach, working closely with Obradovic to foster a family-like atmosphere. Batiste expressed his excitement about being back in his “second home” and using his experience to support the players. Additionally, the club's ambitions have been linked to potential interest in NBA star Nikola Jokic, a topic Obradovic noted he has discussed frequently in the past.
