Mike Conley begins mentoring Boston Celtics players

Veteran guard Mike Conley has begun mentoring younger Boston Celtics players, specifically focusing on working with Payton Pritchard. Entering his 20th NBA season, the 38-year-old Conley is sharing insights on how smaller guards can maintain longevity and effectiveness in a highly athletic league.

Conley noted that his advice is tailored to individual player profiles, stating, ‘Certain things that correspond to his game might not necessarily correspond to mine.’ He aims to provide tactical guidance, such as when to utilize floaters versus mid-range shots, to complement the specific strengths of his teammates.

In addition to on-court mentorship, Conley is expected to provide leadership within the locker room and support head coach Joe Mazzulla. Conley expressed optimism regarding the Celtics' deep roster and the high basketball IQ of the team's younger players.
