Mike de Meza addresses political future and Aruban autonomy

Aruban Parliamentarian Mike de Meza addressed his political future and current stance during a recent press conference. While acknowledging that he is eligible to serve as a minister, De Meza stated that his desire to accept such a position is a separate matter.

De Meza emphasized that his commitment to serving the people of Aruba does not depend on holding a ministerial post. He noted that in his current role as a parliamentarian, he maintains the responsibility to act as a critic to defend the interests of all citizens. He asserted that his loyalty lies with the general interest of Aruba rather than political party interests.

The parliamentarian also highlighted significant disagreements with current governance, specifically regarding the HOFA (National Ordinance on Ownership and Financial Management Aruba) and discussions surrounding the Rijkswet (Kingdom Act). De Meza expressed that the people of Aruba oppose any attempts to compromise the nation's autonomy.
