Alpine F1 appoints Mike Elliott as Chief Technical Officer

Alpine F1 Team has appointed Mike Elliott as its new Chief Technical Officer (CTO). The 52-year-old British engineer will lead and oversee technical and engineering operations at the team’s Enstone factory.

Elliott returns to Enstone, where he previously served as principal aerodynamicist between 2008 and 2012 during the team’s Renault and Lotus eras. He joins from Mercedes, where he most recently held the role of CTO following a long tenure that included serving as technical director. During his career in Formula 1, which spans 23 years across McLaren, Renault, and Mercedes, he has contributed to eight constructors’ championships and eight drivers’ championships.

In his new role, Elliott will work above executive technical director David Sanchez. Alpine stated that the appointment is intended to strengthen the team’s technical capabilities as they aim to close the performance gap to the top four teams in the championship.
