Mike Flanagan plans faithful The Dark Tower series adaptation

Director Mike Flanagan has shared his approach to the highly anticipated television adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower’ saga. Flanagan, known for horror works such as ‘The Haunting of Hill House’, intends to maintain extreme fidelity to the original book series.

Flanagan stated in a recent interview that his strategy is to ‘simply do what is in the books,’ a departure from previous adaptations that disappointed fans. His long-term vision for the project includes producing five seasons of the series followed by two standalone films, following the chronological order of the source material.

Despite having the author's blessing for the first season's script, Flanagan noted that launching the project has been a complex process, describing it as ‘one of the most complicated brands to launch’ he has ever encountered.
