Mike Flanagan to premiere ‘Carrie: A Estranha’ on Prime Video

Director Mike Flanagan is set to premiere the Prime Video series ‘Carrie: A Estranha’ on October 7. Based on Stephen King’s debut novel, the production marks Flanagan’s first project with a streaming service outside of Netflix since 2018.

The series follows Carrie White, portrayed by Summer H. Howell, a teenager who grew up isolated by her domineering mother, Margaret (played by Samantha Sloyan). Following her father's death, Carrie enters public high school, where she faces bullying and the emergence of telekinetic powers.

In an interview with Collider, Flanagan expressed his ambition to expand the story beyond the original book's definitive ending. He envisions a three-season narrative arc that explores a larger community of women with special gifts, aiming to transform the story into a trilogy focused on young women discovering their power.
