The Exorcist: Martyrs teaser released starring Scarlett Johansson

Universal Pictures has released the first teaser for “The Exorcist: Martyrs,” a new film set within the iconic horror franchise. Written and directed by Mike Flanagan, the project is scheduled for theatrical release on March 12, 2027.

Scarlett Johansson stars as Julie Miller, an NYPD homicide detective and single mother. The plot follows Miller as she investigates a series of murders connected to a satanic serial killer known as “Father Sunday,” played by John Leguizamo. The story blends crime thriller elements with supernatural horror, as the execution of the killer leads to unexpected and demonic consequences that threaten Miller’s twelve-year-old son.

The ensemble cast includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Sasha Calle, and Jacobi Jupe. Flanagan, known for “The Haunting of Hill House,” aims to provide a fresh direction for the saga that avoids being a direct remake or reboot of previous entries.
