Prime Video unveils first-look images of Stephen King's 'Carrie' series
Prime Video released the first official images of its upcoming horror series "Carrie," the first television adaptation of Stephen King’s 1974 novel. The eight‑episode series is created and showrun by Mike Flanagan, who also directs four episodes and serves as executive producer alongside King. Summer Howell stars as Carrie White, with Samantha Sloyan as her mother Margaret, and a supporting cast that includes Siena Agudong, Alison Thornton, Joel Oulette, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, Thalia Dudek, Amber Midthunder and Matthew Lillard.
The adaptation updates the story for a modern audience, placing the teenage protagonist in a public high school where a viral bullying scandal and the pressures of social‑media culture intersect with the emergence of her telekinetic powers. The series is slated to premiere in the autumn on Prime Video and will be available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the 1976 film version.
The project is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and is positioned as a major horror event for the streaming platform’s fall lineup.
