Mike Flanagan's Prime Video 'Carrie' Series Set for 2026 Release

A new eight‑episode adaptation of Stephen King’s 1974 novel “Carrie” is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video. Creator Mike Flanagan, known for horror series such as “The Haunting” and “Midnight Mass,” will modernise the story, shifting the teenage bullying that drives Carrie White’s telekinetic revenge to a world of social‑media and TikTok. The series, announced by Variety, will premiere in the autumn of 2026 and will be streamed in more than 240 countries.

The cast features Summer H. Howell as Carrie, Samantha Sloyan as her mother Margaret, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell and Matthew Lillard as principal Grayle, among others. Flanagan says the adaptation will retain the novel’s core while reworking iconic scenes, such as the prom blood‑bath, for a contemporary audience.
