Mike García joins Venados de Mazatlán as pitching coach

Mike García has returned to the Venados de Mazatlán as the team’s new pitching coach. A former player for the team during the 1990s, García aims to strengthen the bullpen for the Mexican Pacific League season.

García intends to utilize a strategy that balances veteran experience with youthful talent. He emphasized the importance of mentorship, stating, “We have a complete team; we are going to work with that and have the boys trust in their experience, and have those with experience help the young ones.”

Beyond physical conditioning, García will focus on mental preparation and decision-making on the mound. Returning to Teodoro Mariscal Stadium, he noted that the atmosphere feels different from his playing days, specifically highlighting the intense proximity to the fans.
