Mike Johnson launches website to warn youth about socialism

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson has launched ‘Contrast America’, a website designed to educate young people and the general public on the perceived historical and economic risks of socialist systems. Johnson expressed concern that younger generations do not understand the dangers of socialism and communism, viewing them as perilous paths.

Data from a recent UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies/Los Angeles Times poll indicates a generational divide in political preferences. In California, 60% of young registered Democratic voters favor progressive candidates, whereas 67% of voters over the age of 65 prefer centrist, establishment-aligned Democrats. The survey also noted that a majority of California voters, regardless of party registration, favor progressive candidates.
