Mike Lawler receives endorsements from eleven police unions

Eleven law enforcement unions and organizations have formally endorsed Republican Congressman Mike Lawler for reelection to New York’s 17th Congressional District. The endorsement was announced during a press conference at the Haverstraw Elks Lodge.

The supporting groups represent various jurisdictions, including Rockland County, the Hudson Valley, New York City, and New York State. Participating organizations include the Police Conference of New York, Rockland County PBA, Port Authority PBA, Port Authority Sergeants Benevolent Association, Haverstraw PBA, Yorktown PBA, Carmel PBA, Carmel LBA, Westchester County Corrections Superior Officers Association, New York State Supreme Court Officers Association, and the New York City Sergeants Benevolent Association.

Lawler cited his legislative record as a primary reason for the support, highlighting votes for the LEOSA Reform Act, the Laken Riley Act, and the HALT Fentanyl Act, as well as his opposition to efforts to defund police. Union representatives stated that their endorsement was based on Lawler’s consistent support for public safety and law enforcement officers rather than party affiliation.
