Mike Matheson listed as day-to-day following injury

Montreal Canadiens defenseman Mike Matheson is currently listed as day-to-day following an injury sustained during a game against the Detroit Red Wings. Despite earlier concerns after Matheson was seen appearing unsteady at an airport, reports indicate his status remains stable and his injury may not be as severe as initially feared.

Matheson is not expected to play in the upcoming game against the Buffalo Sabres. His absence may lead to David Reinbacher making his first appearance of the season. Additionally, there is speculation regarding the team's goaltending depth, with suggestions that the Canadiens might utilize three goaltenders throughout the season once Montembeault returns.
