Mike McDaniel hired as offensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Chargers

Mike McDaniel, who was dismissed as head coach of the Miami Dolphins in January after four seasons, has taken the offensive coordinator position with the Los Angeles Chargers. McDaniel is introducing speed‑based schemes and emphasizing quick throws for quarterback Justin Herbert, who endured the most hits of his career last season.
