Mike P. Nelson to direct eleventh Saw film

Lionsgate and Blumhouse Atomic Monster have announced that Mike P. Nelson will direct the eleventh installment of the Saw horror franchise. The project marks a significant creative return for original co-creator James Wan, who will serve as a producer alongside Jason Blum and Leigh Whannell.

Nelson, known for directing the 2021 Wrong Turn reboot and Silent Night, Deadly Night, expressed that the script by Gregory Weidman and Geoff Tock aims to recapture the mystery of the original 2004 film while introducing new, intense ideas. James Wan stated that finding a director who would “honor that world” was essential for the production.

While the film is officially in development, a formal title, cast, and release date have not yet been announced. The production follows the success of Saw X, which grossed over $112 million globally.
