Phil Tindall, father of Mike Tindall, dies at 80

Phil Tindall, the father of Mike Tindall and father-in-law to Zara Tindall, has passed away at the age of 80 following a long battle with Parkinson's disease. The news was shared by Mike Tindall during an episode of his podcast, ‘The Good, The Bad & The Rugby’.

Phil Tindall was a dedicated rugby player with significant ties to West Yorkshire. He played for the Otley Rugby Club, where he eventually served as captain during the 1972-1973 season. In honor of his legacy, the club held a minute of silence during a recent match against Chester.

Having been diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2003, Phil Tindall's health had declined significantly in recent years. Mike Tindall previously spoke publicly about the brutal nature of the disease and its impact on his father. Phil and his wife, Linda, remained largely out of the royal spotlight while supporting their children and grandchildren.
