Mike Tyson to star in new four-part Netflix docuseries
Netflix has released a trailer and announced a release date for ‘Tyson’, a four-part documentary series exploring the life of former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. The series is scheduled to premiere on October 13.
Directed by Floyd Russ, the documentary traces Tyson’s journey from his upbringing in Brooklyn to becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in history. The production aims to provide an unfiltered look at his career, covering his athletic triumphs alongside his significant controversies, including legal issues, substance abuse, and his infamous 1997 disqualification for biting Evander Holyfield’s ear.
The series will feature interviews with Tyson himself, as well as contributions from family members like his wife, Lakiha ‘Kiki’ Spicer, and his son, Miguel.
In addition to the docuseries, Netflix announced a comedy special titled ‘Mike Tyson: Return of the Mike’, directed by Kiki Tyson. This one-man show, filmed in Florida, is set to debut on the platform on November 3.
