Mike Tyson faces £1.5m lawsuit over gambling campaign dispute
Mike Tyson and his wife, Lakiha Tyson, are facing a £1.5 million lawsuit in London's High Court brought by Medier Ltd, the operator of the Rabona online gambling brand. The company alleges that Tyson and his promotional business, Tyrannic, breached a sponsorship agreement signed in January 2024.
The dispute centers on a planned marketing campaign titled “Talking Pigeons.” Medier Ltd claims Tyson withdrew from the project because he lost interest once his high-profile exhibition match against Jake Paul was confirmed. The proposed commercial involved Tyson interacting with presenters, including one in a giant pigeon costume, and using a mannequin modeled after his former rival, Evander Holyfield.
Tyson’s legal team denies the breach, arguing that Medier Ltd violated the contract first by making unreasonable demands. They contend the original agreement was limited to footage of Tyson playing casino games, such as poker or roulette, and that the “Talking Pigeons” concept went far beyond the scope of the contract.
