Mikel Arteta compiles video evidence of Premier League managers breaching touchline rules
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has announced he is compiling a video archive of rival Premier League managers who repeatedly step outside their designated technical areas without receiving disciplinary action. This follows Arteta receiving his second yellow card of the season for the same offence during Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Everton on October 24, 2026.
Arteta suggested a double standard in how touchline regulations are enforced, jokingly proposing the installation of sensors to monitor compliance. He claimed to be documenting instances where other managers have left the touchline dozens of times in short periods without being cautioned. He stated, “I am clipping all of that to build a massive archive of images, so if somebody comes to me, I can show them I’m not near the record yet.”
In the match itself, goals from Ezri Konsa and Gabriel secured the win for Arsenal, moving the club level on points with league leaders Manchester City. Gabriel also overcame an early groin injury scare to score the second goal.
