Mikhalis Aerapis says Alekse Tsipras' new party lacks leftist modesty

Greek actor Mikhalis Aerapis appeared on the television programme “Weekend Live” on 14 June 2026, in an interview broadcast by SKAI. He recounted his difficult childhood, the lack of support from his father, and his path to becoming an actor after studying drama. Aerapis also commented on the launch of Alekse Tsipras' new political party, describing the presentation as “flashy” and “American‑style” and stating that it does not fit the traditional modesty of the left.

He concluded that, in his view, the left in Greece generally maintains a modest character, which he felt was missing from Tsipras' party launch.
