Miki Matsubara to reissue curated ‘My Best 16’ compilation

Japanese singer Miki Matsubara’s curated compilation, ‘Miki Matsubara ga Erabu My Best 16’, is set for a memorial reissue in November. Originally released only on cassette in 1981, the collection features 16 tracks selected by the artist herself.

The reissue will be available in three formats: LP, UHQCD, and cassette tape. The 12-inch LP will feature a two-disc clear color vinyl specification, utilizing original artwork and signed jacket photography.

The release follows the global resurgence of Matsubara’s music, particularly her hit ‘Mayonaka no Door ~ Stay with Me’, which became a cornerstone of the worldwide City Pop revival. In July, the track became the first Japanese song released in the 20th century to surpass 500 million streams on Spotify.
