Mikis Theodorakis musical production extended at Music Library
The musical theater production ‘The Treasure of Mikis’ has been extended until November 29, offering nine additional performances at the Music Library. Following a successful previous run that introduced the composer’s work to hundreds of primary school children, the interactive show utilizes the Mikis Theodorakis Archive, which the composer entrusted to the library in 1997.
The performance features three actors and musicians performing live on guitar, piano, and flute, alongside dramatized scenes and songs. The production uses scores, diaries, photographs, and personal items from the archive to illustrate the life of Theodorakis and his connection to Greek history and poets such as Seferis, Elytis, and Ritsos.
