Mikko Koivisto to retire from Korisliiga after upcoming season

Finnish basketball player Mikko Koivisto has announced that the upcoming Korisliiga season will be the final chapter of his top-tier professional career. The captain of last season's champions, Salon Vilppaan, began his Korisliiga journey in January 2003 at the age of 15.

Koivisto, who will turn 40 during the upcoming season, has spent 32 years involved in basketball. Reflecting on his career, he noted that the sport has been his primary lifestyle and profession, influencing major life decisions including his education and military service. His career has included international experience, such as playing in Germany during the 2014–2015 season.
