Mikołaj Marczyk secures European Rally Championship runner-up title

Mikołaj Marczyk and co-driver Szymon Gospodarczyk have secured the runner-up position in the FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) following the season finale at the 39th Rally Six Cities in Portugal.

Heading into the final round, Marczyk trailed the Italian crew of Andrea Mabellini and Virginia Lenzi by six points. During the challenging gravel stages around Fafe, Mabellini and Lenzi faced significant issues that eliminated them from contention. Despite facing their own difficulties, including a punctured tire, Marczyk and Gospodarczyk finished eighth in the rally to clinch the overall second place in the championship.

In a separate performance at the same event, Jakub Matulka and Damian Syty of the ORLEN LOTTO Rally Team finished eleventh in the rally. This result placed them sixth in the final ERC season standings, marking a successful second full season in the series for the Polish champions.
