Mikulas Konecny sets record for fastest Champions League red card

Mikulas Konecny set a new UEFA Champions League record for the fastest red card received by a debutant. The 20-year-old Slavia Prague defender was sent off just 3 minutes and 34 seconds after entering the pitch at halftime.

Following a VAR review, referee Vassilis Fotias issued the red card after Konecny committed a foul on an opponent who was the last defender. This performance broke the previous record of 3 minutes and 44 seconds held by Amara Nallo.

Despite Slavia Prague taking an early lead in the second half through Danijel Sturm, the numerical disadvantage proved costly. RC Lens secured a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory with two goals scored in stoppage time.
