Milan allocates €90,000 for animal welfare organizations

The Municipality of Milan has approved the allocation of €90,000 to support non-profit organizations dedicated to the protection and care of dogs, cats, and feline colonies within the city.

The funding is part of a broader urban strategy to promote respectful coexistence between citizens and domestic animals. Resources will be directed toward organizations that provide daily care, manage feline colonies, and offer free veterinary services to animals belonging to vulnerable individuals or those experiencing homelessness.

Additionally, the funds aim to support awareness campaigns against stray animals and promote responsible pet ownership. The city council has defined the guidelines for the distribution, and a formal call for applications will be published on the institutional website in the coming weeks. Beneficiaries are expected to be identified by the end of 2026.
