Milan and Campobasso face rising violent crime, Lega calls for stronger policing

In Milan, a young man was fatally stabbed at the Milano Certosa railway station. Lega city secretary Samuele Piscina described the killing as evidence that the city is "out of control" and urged the municipal government to step up security. He noted that the national government has already sent an extra 1,000 police officers and more than 300 soldiers from the "Strade Sicure" operation, and called for additional resources such as Tasers for local police.

In Campobasso, residents report a sharp increase in street violence, open‑air drug dealing and assaults, many linked to groups of foreign youths from reception centres. Recent police raids led to the arrest of four North Africans, three of them irregular migrants. Victims described attacks on teenagers and a near‑stabbing of a security guard. Lega Giovani leaders in the region demanded a curfew for reception centres and stronger policing to contain the "frank zones" of crime.

Both cities’ officials from the Lega party are using the incidents to press for more police presence and tougher measures against what they portray as immigrant‑related criminal activity.
