Milan approves new street names in Santa Giulia district

The Milan City Council has approved the naming of three new streets in the Santa Giulia district. These new roads are located near the Unipol Dome Arena, an area undergoing significant urban transformation in preparation for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

The streets will be named after Angela Maria Guidi Cingolani, Giorgio Zampori, and Maria Grazia Marchelli. Guidi Cingolani was a prominent political figure and the first woman in Italy to serve in a ministerial role. Zampori and Marchelli are recognized for their contributions to Italian sports.

According to Culture Councilor Tommaso Sacchi, the decision aims to weave together civil memory, culture, and Olympic vocation within a district that is becoming a symbol of development in southeastern Milan.
