Milan Brons and Kyra Meulenberg win European titles in Almere

Dutch triathletes Milan Brons and Kyra Meulenberg secured European and national titles at the Challenge Almere-Amsterdam Long Distance European Championship.

In the men's race, Milan Brons achieved his goal of winning on home soil. The competition was intense, featuring early challenges from Jesper Svensson and Niek Heldoorn. Danish athlete Thor Bendix Madsen took an early lead during the cycling portion, creating a gap that the Dutch competitors worked to close.

In the women's race, Kyra Meulenberg claimed both the European and Dutch titles with a finishing time of 8 hours, 42 minutes, and 7 seconds. Meulenberg secured her victory during the final marathon stage, overtaking Maaike Vooren, who had controlled much of the race. This performance follows Meulenberg's recent successful international results, including podium finishes at Alpe d’Huez and strong showings in Ironman competitions.
