Milan court seizure office sealed amid probe of missing funds

Italian prosecutors sealed the door of a Milan Tribunal office that manages assets and money seized in criminal cases. The room, located on the seventh floor of the court’s archives sector, was locked by the Carabinieri judicial police as part of a probative seizure linked to an investigation led by chief prosecutor Marcello Viola and carried out under colonel Alessio Carparelli.

The probe focuses on a single administrative employee who handled the management of seized assets destined for the Unified Justice Fund. Authorities were alerted by the tax agency about irregularities, prompting searches and the sealing of the office. No charges have been disclosed, and the employee has reportedly been removed from duty while investigators examine whether the alleged shortfall stems from error, mismanagement or misappropriation of funds.
