Milan Diocese launches virtual exhibition honoring missionary martyrs
In observance of the missionary month and the upcoming centenary of World Mission Day in 2026, various religious organizations in Italy are launching initiatives to honor missionary history and engagement.
The Diocese of Milan has introduced a virtual exhibition titled ‘Testimoni sino alla fine’ (Witnesses until the end). The exhibition commemorates men and women from the Ambrosian Diocese who were killed in the post-war period for their commitment to peace and love. The project was inspired by the upcoming 2025 publication of the book ‘Nuovi Martiri: Luigi Accattoli e Ciro Fusco’ and offers two paths for viewers: individual profiles of witnesses with historical context and thematic paths focusing on peace, mission, and vocation.
Additionally, the Institute of the Sisters of Saint Dorothy is launching a new column titled ‘Partire per incontrare’ (Leaving to meet). This initiative features testimonies from young people regarding their summer missionary experiences. The program aligns with the message for the 100th World Mission Day, emphasizing the importance of encounter and shared community.
