Milan Fashion Week: Tod’s and Ferragamo debut SS27 collections
During Milan Fashion Week, luxury brands Tod’s and Ferragamo presented their SS27 collections, focusing on modernizing traditional silhouettes and commercial product architecture.
Under the creative direction of Matteo Tamburini, Tod’s showcased a collection inspired by 1990s references. The presentation emphasized ‘Italian Attitude’ through timeless, spontaneous silhouettes and experimental leather craftsmanship, aiming to move away from classic luxury labels toward a more dynamic aesthetic. The collection also featured the return of the Candy Bag.
Ferragamo’s SS27 show, led by Maximilian Davis, focused on rewriting wardrobe basics by drawing inspiration from 1940s workwear. The collection utilized tailored pieces, such as trouser suits and wrap coats, while incorporating sensual elements like translucent pencil skirts and latex. This strategic approach aims to modernize classic silhouettes for contemporary clients, balancing textile craftsmanship with a commercial focus on elevating product value.
