Milan hosts 44th Sport Movie and TV festival

The 44th edition of the Sport Movie and TV festival, part of the World FICTS Challenge, has opened at Palazzo Lombardia in Milan. The event features a competition of over 120 films and documentaries from 130 countries, focusing on Olympic champions, sports culture, and stories of personal redemption.

Lombardy Region President Attilio Fontana inaugurated the ceremony, noting that cinema and television possess the power to transform athletic feats into universal narratives. The festival, titled ‘Sport Movies and TV 2026 – Milano International FICTS Fest’, runs until November 2. A central theme is the legacy of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, aiming to preserve the cultural and social impact of the games through media and institutional meetings.
