Milan hosts denim exhibitions exploring culture and sustainability
The Afro Fashion Association and Levi’s have launched the “Voices of Denim” exhibition at Milan’s Casa degli Artisti. This year-long partnership features projects from 30 Black, Indigenous, and people of color creatives based in Italy. The exhibition aims to reinterpret denim heritage through diverse cultural perspectives, spanning fashion design, photography, art, and videography.
In a related exploration of the fabric, the CORE project is hosting an event in Milan’s Tortona Fashion District focused on the intersection of denim, art, and sustainability. The event features a denim cube-sculpture by GEOCOT, which incorporates graffiti-inspired art by SEXSDREAMS and live upcycling interventions by SCPT Moda Lenta. This initiative seeks to connect creative identities with manufacturing to promote responsible fashion and new business opportunities within the industry.
