Milan Ibrahim jailed for £980,000 illegal streaming operation

Milan Ibrahim, a 68-year-old man from Chorley, has been sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for operating an illegal IPTV streaming business. The operation generated £980,812 in criminal profits over a three-year period.

Ibrahim was found guilty of conspiracy to defraud at Preston Crown Court. The scheme involved unlawfully capturing and redistributing television broadcasts from major rights holders, including the BBC, ITV, Sky, and the Premier League. The content was converted into formats suitable for IPTV streaming and sold to customers globally, with a particular focus on British expatriates living abroad.

The investigation was led by the Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit (PIPCU) of the City of London Police. Authorities seized and shut down 80 servers used to run the operation from premises in Chorley. Following the sentencing, proceedings will begin under the Proceeds of Crime Act to recover the funds obtained through the illegal services.
