Corsico kidnapping: five North African suspects arrested

In March 2026 a 22‑year‑old Egyptian man, identified as A. A., was violently assaulted with a baseball bat in a bar in Corsico, Milan. He was then seized by four other men, taken to a pizzeria in Adro, Brescia, and held for 48 hours. During his captivity he was threatened with death, forced to pay a €1,000 ransom and to sign promissory notes for €8,000, and was robbed of €400.

The Carabinieri, using video surveillance, electronic monitoring and phone‑tracking, traced the perpetrators – four Egyptian nationals and one Tunisian – and executed an operation involving more than 40 officers, the provincial commands of Milan and Brescia, the 4th Battalion “Veneto” operational unit and the Romanian National Police. Four suspects were arrested in Baranzate (MI) and Adro (BS); a fifth was captured in Brașov, Romania. A custody order was issued by GIP Angelica Cardi. The case has heightened concerns about migrant safety and organized extortion in the region.
