Italy police investigate two separate sexual assault cases

Italian authorities have arrested a 26-year-old man in Castellammare di Stabia following the kidnapping and sexual assault of a 22-year-old woman. The suspect allegedly lured the victim via Instagram before trapping her in a basement, where he used wooden beams to immobilize her and subjected her to physical violence and sexual assault. The investigation, supported by medical reports and photographic evidence, was initiated after the victim filed a complaint.

In a separate incident in Rimini, police are investigating the suspected sexual assault of a 17-year-old German tourist. The teenager reported being in a state of confusion and having no memory of the night's events after meeting a 27-year-old man at a nightclub. Investigators are examining the possibility that the victim was drugged. The suspect, who was staying in the same hotel as the victim's group, has been identified and questioned, though he denies the allegations. His mobile phone and personal items have been seized as part of the ongoing inquiry.
