Milan parks to host autumn botanical guided tours

The Guardie Ecologiche Volontarie (GEV) of Milan are launching the autumn edition of “Meraviglie e tesori nascosti nei parchi di Milano” (Wonders and hidden treasures in the parks of Milan). This initiative offers guided tours to help residents discover the city's environmental heritage and its more than 170 botanical species.

Scheduled between September and October, the five free sessions will take place from 10:00 to 12:00 in various locations. The tour schedule includes Parco Sempione on September 12, Parco Don Giussani on September 20, and Parco delle Cave on September 26. In October, tours will be held at Parco Simoni on the 17th and Parco Lambro on the 24th. No reservation is required.

Participants will learn about park history, architecture, and specific botanical details. Featured species include the Tulip Tree (Liriodendro), the Judas Tree (Gleditsia triacanthos), and the Hackberry (bagolaro). The events also serve to highlight the work of the city's more than 160 ecological volunteers.
