Milan Pawelec wins Moto2 European race in Jerez

Polish 19‑year‑old rider Milan Pawelec claimed victory at the Moto2 European Championship round in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, moving back to the top of the series standings. It was his third win of the season and the third for his AGR and ORLEN‑Team partnership.

Pawelec said the race was demanding because of high temperatures and tire management, but he was able to control the pace and finish about a second ahead of Italy’s Francesco Mongiardio and Spain’s Unai Orradre. He will return to competition the following weekend in the Moto2 World Championship at the German Grand Prix on the Sachsenring circuit, riding for the Italian Gresini Racing squad. The next European round is scheduled for Magny‑Cours, France, three weeks later.
