Italy law enforcement conducts widespread arrests for drugs and theft

Law enforcement agencies across Italy have conducted a series of operations resulting in numerous arrests and seizures related to drug trafficking, theft, and violent crimes.

In northern regions, the Carabinieri dismantled a criminal network in the Crema-Saronno area involved in drug dealing and the sale of nitrous oxide, seizing over 200 kilograms of narcotics. In Rome, police arrested 11 individuals for organized vehicle thefts. Other notable incidents include the arrest of a man in Gallarate for possession of ‘pink cocaine’ following a supermarket theft, and the arrest of two individuals in Ostia for attempting to defraud an elderly woman by impersonating Carabinieri officers.

In southern and central Italy, authorities intercepted large-scale cannabis operations, including a professional indoor cultivation site in Ragusa and a plantation in Palermo. In Sicily, intensive patrols in Trapani led to 11 arrests for various offenses including drug possession and evasion. Additionally, several violent crimes were addressed, including an assault on a woman and child in Monza and a retaliatory attack in Quattro Castella following a previous robbery report.
